Most beneficial performance upgrade

Is tires and wheels. I put new CSL wheels and tires on my 128 and it pulls like a champ. It has significantly less weight to the wheels, and it is simply one of the most drastic changes I have ever felt.

I believe ALL 1 series were meant to have at least 255 in the back.

I am curious, what size wheels (and tires) did you use?

I want to put the tii wheels on my 128i when I order it and was wondering what kind of difference it would make on the handling/feel. I think the tii wheels are the same size as the 135i stock wheels, so staggered setup with wide tires on the rear.

Where did you get your CSL wheels from? Did you order them from one of the online vendors? Which one?

I'm also considering a set of black CSLs

Whoa whoa, hold up. Did you have to use any spacers/offsets? Or did you simply just order the wheels from the vendor & mount them directly on. Any rubbing? I'm thinking about getting Silver 18s...

nice, lighter wheels and stickier tires will always do the trick.

CSL reps from European Auto Source. I got mine in Hyper black. I love that color, and I dont think I could have found a nicer colour for jet black. They came out of the box, mounted the tires, and onto my car. NO spacers or hubcentric rings required. My bmw emblems popped right off of my old wheels and onto my new ones.

Did you weight the stock whee/tire combo? I'm just curious. I would have though the stock wheels and tires would have come in close to the same. I know the run flats are heavy but I didn't think the CSL reps were all that light either. CSL's are my favorite and I plan on putting them on my 135i when it shows up in October. It would be a bonus if they were lighter than the stock wheel/tire combo.

I would have thought a new exhaust system would have yielded the best results. It's always been the first port of call for any other car or bike I've owned.

So those wheels will fit perfectly on my 135i? I'm so glad I saw this thread, I think I just decided which rims I'm gonna get! I'm thinking the Matte Black with a time attack ring, probably white or red, would look really nice on my jet black 135i.

lmao. Tires are always one of the best upgrades to get on a bmw. The tires I got stick better and have less weight. At least that is MHO. And yes, driver is always the most beneficial performance "piece".

If so, I'm going to grab a set with time attack rings!
