New Minnesota Tint Laws - Check Inside!!

For everyone that got a prescription for their tint, this applies to you. If you plan on getting one, you need to read this!

Effective August 1st, 2008

MSS 168.27 sub.30

Requires Doctor's letters/prescriptions to define the amount of light transmittance and sets an expiration date of every 2 years for these prescriptions.
Also, new and used car dealers are prohibited by law from selling cars with illegal tinting.

So those of you who have the prescriptions, you need to get a new one now. Get the paperwork to say something to effect of "_____ is prescribed to have vehicle window tinting of up to 20% (or 10%, 35%, etc.) light transmittance or lighter on all registered vehicles to satisfy their recognized sensitivity to light (or whatever excuse you want to use, if you want to list it. Listing why you have the prescription is not necessary.)

Hope that helps!
