Stock brake pads

What kind of brake pads are on the 135i? I only have 275 miles on my BMW so I know it is in the break in phase but I am getting a lot of brake dust on the wheels.

Get used to it. It will improve some, but OEM BMW pads will always dust pretty heavily. It will get better, but not go away. Just be glad the 135 wheels are so easy to clean!

They are easy to clean and I don't mind doing it but they definitely "shed" more than my old car did.

BMW's make brake dust. A good waxing of your wheels will make removing any dust accumulation considerably easier.

I sold my buddy my old E36 with Hawk pads on it...

he switched to OEM for the next pad change... much to his chagrin.

Get a pair of rubber gloves when you work on the wheels, and never wear anything white. That stuff is like laser toner, it will stain your hands and ruin t-shirts. Who knows - it could even be harmful to your health.
