M5cs still the king of sedans 💪🏻

Still I believe something is wrong with M5 CS launch control system.
Knowing it's about 400 Lbs lighter than M8GC Competition and a bit more power (not significant) , it should be at least 0.2-0.3 seconds quicker but it's not.
Of course surface condition/weather can affect but still...

Meh. I used to really like CarWow when it first came out ~ though it was mostly because Watson covered some of the quirky things that would bother me about cars (exhaust, high touch surfaces, adequate space and such). The drag racing side was always a bit tongue in cheek, and has now deteriorated to the point that I just skip the vids these days.

I'm sure others are fine with it, and that's OK, not my cup of tea.

I much prefer u drags by Edmunds dot com. Only trouble is they don’t have the variety of cars carwow does nor the mc talent.

That rs6 livery is hideous. Never been a fan of the cs colors either. Just give me all black from factory and I might be interested.

I agree. If you asked anyone what the best M car in BMW history is/was, it’s either going to be the E46 M3 and/or the E39 M5. In my opinion, I think the M5 CS has completely eclipsed and surpassed the E39 M5 within BMW’s own history.

As a (performance) sedan in the very big automotive world, you would be hard pressed to name a better sedan that literally gives you everything and then some.

It’s also fun to know that the M5 CS is considered a super car killer of sorts while seating a family.

You say that, and lets say they become consistent and you like it. BUT - what happens if their engagement drops, clicks drop, ad revenue drops. Oh no. We cant have that. Let's stick to making sloppy posts with good camera work and get people write about it in comments, and walk that fine line. Albeit their drag vids are becoming a little bit of a meme for car enthusiasts already...

As many have already mentioned, the M5 CS is both lighter & slightly more powerful as well. So this was obviously a poorly prepped track surface. Once the Audi got heat soaked, the quatro began to show signs of it probably pulling timing to protect itself from excessive heat after back to back runs. Like most modern day BMW's, they simply seem to have better heat management systems & are less prone to heat soak than many other brands usually display. Nice job M5 CS. Compared to the new G90, the F90 has a much more stout power to weight ratio too. Down the road I firmly believe the resale value on the F90 is going to be pretty darn solid compared to other earlier & later generations.

I ran my CS at the drag strip here in Phoenix last weekend.

On day 1, I put in a couple gallons of 100 octane mixed with pump gas, roughly equivalent to 95 octane. The car ran like absolute dog shit. Best was 11.23s at 126mph in the 1/4.

Dumped the tank for day two and added pump gas only (91 octane in AZ), half tank. Car ran like a raped ape, 10.8 at 130mph.

Car has intakes, catless secondaries, and exhaust, all done for sound, not performance. Wheels are 21”, each is 2lbs heavier than stock. I’m 254lbs.

It’s an impressive machine.
