This is good info, but doesn't show how to replace the lever carrier that comes with the kit. Is there no need to replace this? I've got the kit and hope to do the install soon.

This gives some info, but doesn't completely apply to the 135i. This is a good guide to follow if you're installing a B & M shifter, but the BMW unit for the 135i requires more steps then what's included here (including dropping the exhaust unless you have really small hands).

I really want to do this, but I'm not crazy about spending $200+ for installation. Therefore, a DIY is great. What extra steps are needed with the 135i that's not shown in the linked DIY?

Guys, I just did a UUC kit on my 128i and no need to do anything with the exhaust, I didn't even take off the plastic underbody.

I pulled the rear section of the carrier out only to facilitate putting the new collar in.
I just followed the DIY, but if you are competent in anything you shouldn't have any issues. The hardest part was taking the knob off. If you have any other questions PM me.
