**Riss Racing** Black Oil Catch Can! (New product release!!)

11/24/08 update: Matte Black (Coated) Catch Can's available now!!!

Installed picture included at bottom

Good day everybody,

Our BLACK Riss Racing Oil Catch Can's are available now. They come with all the hardware needed to make this a very easy bolt on application. Sits right next to the window washer reservoir for easy installation. Trying to keep your engine bay stealth? Our Knight Rider edition will work perfect with your vehicle!

What does it do???

Riss Racing's Oil Catch Can takes the oil and moisture in the blow-by gas that causes carbon and sludge build-up in the intake system, intercooler piping, and the engine. Our product keeps the engine clean under all driving conditions. Comes with the authentic Riss Racing Logo and see through pipe which will allow you to measure how much build up is in the can. Riss Racing's Oil Catch Can is universal on all applications.

Is this needed? How do I know if I need one?

This is a NECESSITY on the N54 motor along with most/all turbo vehicles. Actual picture's below are from a customer's car before track day. There was a kinked line so there might have been some buildup before hand. After 1 track day, there was 2X to 3X this amount in 3 hours of driving! Without the catch can, this will be all over the walls of your intake, (stock or aftermarket) and eventually inside your turbo. This can decrease your performance in the long run. Do the test yourselves. When you take off your intake, or change your intercooler, feel inside the walls of the piping. Black residue? Thats the blow by/sludge which was hindering your performance before.

Price?
Anodized Black Catch Can $85.00. Available now!

Coated Matte Black Catch Can $105.00 Available now!!!

Please contact Anthony (Anthony@Rissracing) for ordering information.

So I'm assuming it's best to install the oil catch can as soon as possible, preferably before driving your car for the first time?
Also, how often would one need to empty the can if the car is driven about 1K miles per month?
How easy is draining the catch can?

Yes this would be ideal. However the sooner the install the better. The CC will show you on the clear tune on the side how full it is. It has an easy drain on the bottom of the CC you can just dump into a cup.

This is not the final production mounting kit. However heres an idea of where the Catch Can will sit. It will be a little lower and will have a different bracket. But this was our first mock up. DIY will be done shortly!

You can probably drain this once a month. Literally take off the bracket, put a cup underneath the catch can, and drain the plug. You can even leave the hoses on so the draining should take about a minute tops!

would BMW void your warranty with this mod?
or only if they determined that it was caused by the catch can?

Anthony,

Is the catch can internally baffled? If not, can the top be removed so that some type of baffling can be placed?

Hi Chris,

These are available now. Our web guy is a little slow so we don't have it up on the site yet. We are offering free N54 install kits for all orders through the weekend. We are still waiting for the hoses so there is a 3 day delay for shipping out the orders. After the weekend, additional charges apply for the kit. We'll get it updated on site asap!

What are these install kits, and how much would they normally be? Also, is this install kit promotion available for the standard catch can too?

Good idea. We're doing the full exhaust next week with ANSUN so we'll keep you all updated with that too.
