Who has not choice but to park outside?
We live in a townhome but have no garage. The 135i will be parked right outside in our deeded parking spot.
We have not worries about door dings but it kills me that its not in a garage. The 135i is gonna be a partial daily driver (Thurs - Sundays) Are you in the same boat? Are you planning to use an outdoor cover as I am? How are you dealing with it parked outside? |

I would not use a cover, your going to kill your paint in no time doing that. I don’t care how nice the cover is. It’s still a slightly moving object that’s on top of dirt on top of the paint. If a good gust comes up, or moves that cover in any way, you have micro scratches. Take that over years and well ya get the point.
Just keep it cleaned and waxed. My car before hand was outside for 12 years of its life and not one issue with the paint. Just keep it cleaned and waxed. |

Outside for me (garage is full already)... funny enough even the driveway is lined with cars so I may look into renting a garage somewhere. I hate having to back up 2 cars to get one car out.

I sent back the awful exterior bmw cover and got the satin one...MUCH better. Obviously it is only for inside, but it is very soft and do not expect to see any scratches.

I got he Evolution custom fit car cover for less than $200. It is also supposed to help some for door dings. I plan on keeping my 1er clean with weekly washes and frequent use of a California car duster and Z-6 (quick detailer). Hopefully keeping it super clean will prevent the scratches. I got 11 months left on my lease and next year I'm getting an apartment with a garage.
