F90 vs G90

Curious to hear what you guys think of the G90.

I have been pretty active over there, as I was seriously interested in acquiring one (I have had a pretty extense collection of cars, and the F90 is the best car I have ever owned), but the G90 to me was a massive miss.

I feel a lot of you guys, especially the enthuasiast crowd, feel the same.

I like the G90. Better looking, probably faster once we tune the petrol engine and the interior blows the F90 out of the water. I guess at the track the F90 will be better bc is "lighter" but if that's what your after get a cheap car like an M3. For me, ill be moving to a G90 as soon as I test drive it.

"Keep dreaming! The G90 will not triumph over the F90. It's slower and heavier, and it is the slowest M5 ever produced in terms of the weight-to-power ratio.

Its not faster than the F90. Its the same straight line speed. My concern is not in regards to straight line (the F90 and for that matter the F10) are both ludicrously fast. My main concern is cornering and handling.

Why not buy a cheap car like an M4 then? Why buy an M5 if you care most about handling? M5 is is a muscle car not a track car.

I need the space and ride comfort the M5 can provide me.

I don't want a track car. I want something I can drive 8-9/10s and it does not fall apart.

The M5 F90 is the perfect mix for me.

I love my F90. I'm sure ill love the G90. I like the F95 as well lol. Have you driven an X5M, very comfortable, way better audio than any M5, the vantage point is better from the cockpit and the thing fucking shreds. The X5M is underrated. Test drive one. I cant wait to pick my F95 up at the end of the summer, i miss my F85 dearly.

I have owned a X6 M Competition, but right now my high performance SUV is a G63 AMG.

I think once reviewers actually get there hands on it for real we are going to have a different opinion globally. I’m in love with my F90 but I’m curious to see what this new gen has in store.

IMO F90 is the best M5 ever produced ...; however can't ignore the brilliant S85 engine on E6x M5.
G90 is heavy, ugly and is losing the DNA of sport M-Car.
I'm wondering how you can push this 5300 lb car to the limits on corners and mountain roads. Not talking about track since this car definitely is not a track car.

I’ll let you know when I see it in-person, but the photos aren’t promising.

Heck, I might move to a G80 just to have the manual.

However, I do love my F90. I’ve never been this content with a vehicle after 3+ years of ownership, and it isn’t close.

I think it obviously depends on individual priorities, but for me, someone who daily drives the car, has 3 kids and needs it to perform normal car duties, while also feeling like a proper drivers car and viable for the occasional track day, the f90 is as perfect as it gets.

I can't think of anything I like about the new car except maybe the fact they're offering a touring is nice for some people.

Very different to past generations. I was very excited for the V10, even though styling was questionable - I got an e92 M3 instead at the time, but always wanted the e60. F10 was a game changer and F90 I wanted since it first came out (I waited a couple of years to pick up a used example with only 10k miles on it).

I'm wondering how you call a $90-100k car (M3CX) cheap

It's not the slowest M5 ever produced but has less power to weight ratio than F10 and F90.

Sorry I mentioned m3 which is a 30k gap to a entry M5. Cheap in context. Yes 75k is a lot of money.
