No competition edition but maybe CS. I'm sure BMW will find another way to get our money.

Aesthetically, I love it. I think it’s a great successor to the F90. Love that it’s 3” wider in the front and 2” wider in the rear compared to the regular 5 series. But “0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds”? Slower than the F90…? Yikes.

Edit: just did the calculations for power to weight for both G90 and F90, and wow what a difference. Horsepower doesn’t really mean much when vehicle weight isn’t considered.

F90: 6.66 lbs/hp
G90: 7.38 lbs/hp

Need to see those rear flares in person, hard to tell how aggressive the body shape is in the dark paint and room.

The base price is surprising. In the uk £110000
Although you have to bear in mind most people will put many options on theee cars. As Mat Watson said carbon roof is an extra, but is it worth its function on a 2.4 ton car?
Nice to at least see alcantara headlining back, maybe that’ll feed into the lesser g60 models as an option now

Be interesting to see what the real world 0-60 times are although real world I don’t think it actually matters other than bragging rights but having said that, for a newer model to be slower than its predecessor is brave

All this emission regulations has really screwed with this , to keep their co2 targets down some significant compromises made.

F90 was a significant leap in performance with very modest additional weight.

G90 appears to be a significant leap in weight with a reduction in performance.

I think it does look good in the videos and pictures, and some are going to love it, some aren't. I just bought a Roma, and have a 2018 m5 for perspective... But the roma is about 1100 pounds lighter and you can feel the difference. ADDING 1100 pounds is going the wrong direction, IMO. Not going to be a hate, but going to sit this one out for at least a year and see how it goes

The exterior looks ok, but the interior looks amazing. I am sure the style will grow on me. I just don't think it will outperform the F90. This thing weighs more than an X5M.

BMW actually claimed a weight reduction from the F10 going to the F90. According to the published stuff I can find the F10 LCI was 4354lbs (4387) [depending on transmission I assume] and the F90 LCI is listed as 4345lbs.

They touted how they were able the add AWD and lose weight at the same time (more aluminum basically). I guess all those guys retired.

It could also be that BMW figured the new normal with electric cars will be around 5000lbs for a sedan so eventually everyone will get used to it. Tire companies are going to make out like bandits.

Appearance is not as bad as I had feared. But really need to see it in person to decide if aesthetically I'll appreciate it as much as I do my current F90 which IMO is a beautiful, flowing design the should age well. I'm disappointed that they chose to eliminate the distinctive M5 fender vents that differentiated the M5 from a regular 5 series.

Man disappointed. The new car looks the part, but everything else is disappointing for what it is.

Why a plug in hybrid? Why not just a regular hybrid? Hmmm.

I saw that too... Seems to be in the same place. I guess engineering was too busy fighting climate change.

I was hoping to hear about a ring record or some other type of performance benchmark set with the launch - so far nothing. Frankly disappointed to see the perf figures. I think the real novelty with this launch will be the touring. This car is tailored more to the upper middle class interested in just the top 5-series model and less to the pure motorsport enthusiast than it ever has been.

will wait for a test drive before making a judgement
certainly the weight and the size are a concern
but I tend to judge the overall feel of a car
