Official 1/4 mile list...
I figured we could get one started so post them up if you got them...timeslips would be a plus. No BS made up times...just actual data. List where you are at(altitude) and mods-all that would affect your times. Race gas, tires, weight savings, etc. Thanks.

Took the car out tonight, happy with the baseline numbers.
The track elevation here is 3000 ft, and the track has ZERO track prep.....ZERO, track is very bad,.....bad track...bad... Manual Trans Temp around 80F, just over half a tank of 91 octane, all stock, runflats at 36psi. 60 ft- 2.058 1/8th- 8.953 mph- 79.29 1000- 11.585 1/4- 13.778 mph- 102.65 Converted to sea level numbers: 13.28 at 106.56 :headbang: Most of all my other runs were 13.8X's. Couple things to note, I ran the car to redline in 3rd gear...basicly I was at the end of the 1/4 mile when I was around 6700rpms's. Not sure the best shift points to use on the car yet. I shifted around 6800 rpm. |

What conversion factor did you use? cause you know its substantially different for twin turbo cars than N/A cars, right?

It doesn't appear as though they are using density altitude but sea level altitude for the chart and recommending that for a more accurate reading you use DA. I guess if you want to do that then you would need this...
Density altitude from Pressure Altitude and International Standard Atmosphere temperature deviation Density Altitude in feet = Pressure Altitude in feet + (120 x ISA deviation) Of course you'll also need: Outside Air Temperature ISA temperature = 15°C - (1.98°C/1000ft x Altitude in feet) I don't really think I would go through the trouble but someone might... |

Actually there's another thread where a guy ran a 13.1 in an auto, so for stock cars he's the one to beat right now. I was beginning to think BMW had sent out some hot press cars to be honest, but hopefully it's just been track conditions and location for the slower runs we've seen. I'm going to try to get mine to the track pretty soon, but it's not stock any more. |

I think when Magazines test cars it starts the time when the car starts to move, unlike wasting .5 seconds reaction time at a Dragstrip. 13.8 1/4 minus .5 sec reaction time is 13.3 1/4.

Actually, reaction time doesn't matter. Only when you are bracket racing does it matter. You could sit at the light for 30 secs after it goes green, then go and still run a 13 whatever. Your e.t. starts when you trip the beams.
