AUX or ipodUSB

Does the DQ differ? i dont need the controls from the steering wheel. im fine with using the ipod directly

i think the consensus is that you will get better output with the USB port.

Check out this thread post #14.. looks like the sound quality is the same if you use the AUX or USB...

Also keep in mind that the USB/iPod connection will charge your iPod. Without it, you'd have to use a cigarette lighter adapter.

USB has no loss of quality, it's a digital protocol. Devices that attach via the USB are not a playback devices, but a storage medium. Your car's Head Unit plays back the music from a USB storage device.

It's the same thing as having a card reader.

iPod connectivity using the aux port is using macs ipod for amplification and drives the music to your car's head unit. iPods are a playback device (ie Sony Walkman). USB devices are a storage medium like thumb drives, hard drives, CD's, cassette, records, etc.

Storage devices quality is only determined by the medium stored on that device.
