Are California Dealers "changing the price?" 135i

Hi all!

I've already posted on this topic on the general board. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...light=cloudgif
I think that all the helpful responders must think that I am retarded - or at the very least dyslexic.

The BMW corporate website as well as the dealer websites clearly state that 18" wheels are a standard, no additional cost feature of the 135i. They also indicate that one can specify 17" wheels as a "no cost" option.

Problem. Two Northern California dealers (the only two I've checked with) insist that the websites are "wrong" or "mistaken" and their price sheets, they say indicate that the 18"-ers are an option that you pay extra for on a 135i.

Anyone here have personal experience buying, ordering or pricing out a 135i at the dealer in person, in California generally and in Northern California and/or Bay Area specifically? I don't think the people I talked to are lying. I do think something is screwed up.

Thanks in advance.

I think your dealer is an idiot, which dealer is telling you they are an extra-cost option?

Thanks, 'pac; I really don't want to bad-mouth the two dealers, because they may be misinformed and I may do business with one of them. They are both in the Bay Area. Do you have possession of your 135i or is it on order or somewhere else? What Bay Area dealer priced it out to you in writing (not on the website "configurator") or sold you a 135i with the 18" wheels standard as they are supposed to be?

Thanks

Agreed. Next they will try to get Cloud to trade in his cool two-tone Nash Met.

I've been to 5 dealers in Southern California, the 18's have always been standard and of the like 10 135s I've seen I haven't even seen one with the 17s. I would find a different dealer. I've spoken with Sonnen BMW which might not be too far from you in San Rafael, and they were pretty straight forward and knowledgeable and actually had quite a few in stock, including a silver in stick which I spoke to them about.

Try Chip Rutan at chip@sonnenbmw.com or 415-601-2497. They also list their inventory at cars.com and might on their website as well though they don't give much info. Hope that helps. I know from experience how frustrating the process can be with these 1 series cars as the dealers tend to give out a lot of misinformation and don't really know much about the car or the options or ordering process it seems.

Go to a different dealership that wont try to scandal you into paying for something that BMW gives free.
