This looks awesome, I am waiting for my 128i to be delivered early June. Any mini-review so far?

what is the protective strip along the door? is it a dealer installed option? I don't think I saw one when test driving in last week.

I got them off eBay from Sportwing.com.
I found out about them from another poster on 1addicts (rosky1)
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5974
They come painted, for $99 + shipping if you BIN on eBay or $120 + shipping from their website.
They don't have the 1er side molding, but the 6-series works perfectly (which is what I have on mine).
I put them on myself.
I got them to (hopefully) avoid door dings.
I came from a Z4 with lots of lines and slashes, etc, so I found the 1er sides kinda bland and I think the molding actually improves the looks for me - but I'm sure it's not everyones cup of tea..

Carnut, that is nice and thanks for the info....

What other options does your 128i has? I only tested an automatic and I wonder what it is like with manual transmission. Any idea?

i hate u... lol
and ill hate everyone driving one when im waiting a year.

personally i dont think the door strips are worth it, takes away from the car and draws me to them. i'd rather park super far away from everyone, but then again people are dicks and eventually the car is gona get hit and u'll be laughin'

but very nice ride

Congrat. Willie.

Yes the 18 inch rims is awesome looking, I ordered my 128 cabrio with the sport pkg too. Only downside is the expected low tread life for the 18 inch tires.

Did you order yours in moonlight black soft top?

BTW, what is the convenience pkg? I don't seems to find it on the price list?

Yep got the moonlight black softtop - looks super sharp. The convenience package allows you to keep your key-fob in your pocket, the car recognizes the fob and unlocks the doors for you when you pull on the handle, once inside you just hit the start button and drive off (key doesn't need to be inserted). Another nice feature is you can drop the softtop from the remote before you get into the car - totally recomend the Convenience package!
