Albertans: How many flats have you had?
So I'm tossing around the idea of the tire warranty.. but then again.. I have never had a flat tire at all. I will likely be 350km from a service station of some kind if I *DO* get one. But.. then I'd have to buy new tires ($$$).
I'm wondering.. how often have you guys had flats? I'm trying to justify the risk here. I mean, of X years driving in AB, Y number of flats.

Only one true flat for me in 4 years in alberta, caused by a screw. The others were rolling tires of the bead during rallycross or the one caused by a completely wrecked tire I shouldn't have been drving on to begin with.

7 years of driving and one flat when I was driving home from Cowboys late at night on an unlit road where there had been an accident earlier that evening. I drove over a giant shard of metal from someone's wheel.
With that in mind I'm also seriously wondering if the tire warranty is worth it.

no flats in 10 months with current car.
I tend to watch what I drive on, but have had a couple of distractions.

I've had a few, but in not in Alberta, so they don't count.

hahaha
so the bottom line is that the tyre warranty is just one more of those dealer options devised to make money off you?

It's almost as big of a scam as undercoating.

It covers rim and tire for 3yrs/100000 km. Everything is covered to blown rubber to damaged rims. Cost of $795. I was told that once a rft goes that u cannot repair it or they don't recommend fixing it. So one would have to blow two tires during the time of the warranty to make it worth it. IMHO. Potholed streets in etown are making me consider this option but probably will decline in the end.

Yeah a can of fix-a-flat will do wonders. When I had my flat on the auto-x course myself and a fellow helpful driver used the sealant, added some air and it was good to go... I did another 10-15 runs after that, then drove 60 + KM before I could actually change the tire.
