1 series Pricing
Just curious if anyone has managed to get any discounts of MSRP while negotiating their 1 series purchase.
Is everyone paying full price? Anyone taken the time to try negotiating a few bucks off? |

I could be wrong, but my salesperson told me they don't have winter/rubber mats available for the 1 series yet. thats why I sprung for stuff like shoes...
I too hate carpet mats.

I got $500 off MSRP plus mats and tint at cost(#150) with no trade in. Just some money down when I pick her up.

you can definitely get a discount if you try; the car is new, but they aren't giving it away at cost.
floor mats and those things should be easy to get too, it's a 50k car! (edit: 135i with bells, whistles, and taxes) be prepared to start walking away; if you negotiate and they say no, go like 'ok, thanks, bye.' (general idea, assuming there is more than one dealership in your area)

Get the Lemonaide book put out every year, it has lots of good tips on how to negotiate for a vehicle. Also there are alot of extra fees that are ridiculous. I got a quote on a 1 series, bmw is charging $299 admin fee, PPSA due on del $45.00, PDI $1295 (remove the plastic and wash the car, put some gas in it), Freight well $700 to ship from Germany acceptable. But you can negotiate down the other fees listed.

carcostcanada.com is another good way of buying a vehicle. I purchased my CX-7 below invoice using that website. (I received roughly 5k off the MSRP if I remember correctly)
I personally would refuse to pay an admin fee... that'd be like a retailer charging a consumer extra to use a credit card (something that is illegal to do in Canada, FYI). Sure, they can bury it in the price, but I would want a discount equal to whatever that fee is.

On my last new car, the PDI inspection revealed that some of the undercoating had been scraped off (likely when securing tie-down chains on the boat from Japan). So, supplementary undercoating had to be sprayed. If I had not insisted on receiving a copy of the PDI sheet, who knows if I would have gotten anything more than a car wash for my PDI charge? |

Well, it seems I did fairly well. I knew if I could pick one off the lot, I would do better price wise. The problem is, that everything they order is loaded, and I wanted a stripper. Bavaria brought in an Alpine white 135i with auto/paddles and a sunroof. MSRP 44,900.00! I got 2000.00 off that, plus 200.00 credit for parts and accessories!
