I know Zaino has been discussed on this board before, but I really couldn't find instructions for the proper way to Zaino my 1er using Search.
I went to Zaino's website, but they have SO MANY different products, I'm not sure which to buy, which to use first, do I need to remove the dealership's coat of wax first, etc. I'd really like to do a full-on wax job, I completely expect to spend 4-5 hours on it, and I'm hoping it lasts 5-6 months. If someone had some direction here I'd appreciate it! |

I ordered some stuff from them on Monday and it will be arriving tomorrow. Plan on claybaring the car. I have never done it but read up about it on Zaino's website. I'm a little nervouse but I know if I follow instructions and take my time it should come out right!

When mine comes in I have some Sonus cleaner, Sonus wax and Klasse sealant. Of course, this will be after about a month so there is no risk of damaging the paint.

Do you guys also wax your rims as well? When I bought my Honda I noticed that the rims had a coat of wax on them, and it made a huge difference in keeping them clean, it was so easy the dirt and dust just wiped off, with the BMW break dust thing, I would think that it would be a good idea to have some wax on the wheels

Thanks. I was a little surprised that I needed both the clay and the swirl remover. Unfortunately, that was indeed the case... dealer installed swirls. Bleh.

Hopefully I'll have pics this weekend of my Jet Black....if it gets released from the vpc in the next day or two.
I have all the Zaino Products ready to go. PS, I see you have an SRT-4....nice car....... I sold my SRT-4 for my down payment on my 1 series:thumbup: |

I'll be trading it on on the 1 when i get it. Can't wait to see zaino on your jet black!! That's the color i'll be getting so definitely shoot me a pm when you post it please That guide posted above is pretty sound!! If you want that wax look for the longest time possible, then forget any carnuba waxing as it will only last a month at best. |

Unfortunately I zaino'd on Saturday and it has poured buckets almost every day since. Ironically my P21S and wheel wax just arrived from UPS and it almost a monsoon outside. I will wash and do the wheels hopefully tomorrow if the rain breaks and get some photos up ASAP.

Hey guys. New to the zaino world, but I do know that it's supposed to be a really detailed, time-consuming process. Wondering if you could give us an idea of how many steps/coats it is, and if there's a simpler, less time-consuming zaino process that might not look AS good, but still does a pretty good job compared to your typical wax/protectant.

You can Zaino one product (Z2) with 1 coat. How far beyond that is up to you.
Its not really that time consuming IMO Id say 3-5 coats of Z2 with Z6 in between topped off with ZCS Z6 and Z8 |
