Comfort Access is Remote Starter?

HI, late night question,

can you start your car remotely with comfort access?

if somebody says yes, you will make my week.

(edmonton gets V-E-R-Y cold in the winter).

Thank you.

No. Move to the Best Coast so you aren't so cold.

haha... I know, but edmonton is paying for the 135i...
I was confused because the canadian brochure says:
"Comfort Access, for keyless entry and engine start-up"
you can start the car without the key IN... not start the car remotely WITH the key.

but I get it now.. I am just a dreamer in love with a car.

I was asking the dealer about that when I ordered the car. Im getting comfort access also. The dealer says they will not put in remote start because of all the electronics already in the car. I ask him if I go with aftermarket can they program the comfort access keyfob to work with that so I dont have 2 remotes. The guy tells me that getting any aftermarket remote start will void warranty.

mmmm whatever then. i dont like remote starters (waste gas, emissions) anyways, plus they say the heated seats warm up pretty quickly...
plus I forgot the fact that I only drive manuals haha

Just get in the car and drive... if my CX-7 and Yaris can both pump out hot air after 20-30 seconds I'm sure the 1 series can.

Idling a car is hard on it anyway, and bad for the environment.

I agree with you entirely on the second statement, but the first one: my Jetta usually makes me suffer a bit (even with heated seats at max power) when I am driving away and it is -40 or so... that's the only reason I was hoping for it... I'd never try to be like those people who hit their remote starters 30 mins before they leave work, still from within their office.
The Jetta has a 2.0L, and in MY experience, the bigger the engine, the longer it takes to warm up.

It really all comes down to my work building a heated parkade.

wow, I finally caught on my sleep...
I don't care about a remote starter really... it comes with a block heater and that is more than enough.
