Squeaks and Rattles

Does anyone have any squeaks or rattles?

I have a set belt latch squeak. I will take a look tonight.

It's minor, but irritating none the less.

Actually I should have put in that I am having issues with my Hi fi. Not a squeak as such, but needs a dealer visit to fix.

As I will always say, if you are unsatisfied with something on your car, please take it to your dealer! It's free! I can see the pain in scheduling an appointment and taking it in. However, messing with this shoe-horned engine shouldn't be done until it's necessary!

Also, unlike previous models such as the E46, the new cars almost all require programming during a repair. This could not be the case in your situation, but you never know! The CCC is what mainly controls everything electrical in your car, and could, but may not require some program time after a repair. I hope this helps you!

I have a passenger door rattle I'm working with.. when I can reproduce at will, I'll take it in to get resolved.

When I crank the hifi speaker up, the passenger side door panel or floor board rattles a little.

Both squeaks and rattles, not too impressed as my old 2002 was tight. Get the occasional backseat buzz, something plastic-related plus a right-front, plastic again, rattle.

The CCC (iDrive only) controls the audio/video portions of the car. It is the master controller for the MOST bus. You are correct about programming after replacing control modules. The e46 and other older cars only required the rplaced module to be coded/programmed; newer cars need to be completely up to date before a new module can be coded. If it's up to date, it only takes a few minutes. If it isn't, it could take several hours.

there is a popping noise that sounds like it is coming from the dash or maybe the AC vents. It happens soon after start up only once or twice.

I've had that poping noise that "4th and 1" had. It usually only happens once in the mornig on my drive into work. Coming from the dash/AC vent...no idea what it is.
