Floor Mats DIY

Nothing easier, but here are some pics. When I first opened the box I was amazed at how cheap the mats felt!!! They are thin and very generic feeling, but once you install them you realize they are perfectly custom cut (especially the back ones), color matched perfectly, and the right thickness for this car. Worth $100...well I will let everyone have their own opinion on that.

1. Unbox them.

2. Vacuum them off real good.

3. Unscrew the plugs on the drivers side and screw in the Velcro pads.

4. Insert mats and enjoy

I love your car! Also, what trim do you have? It looks like our cars are almost identical! Except...Mine is still waiting to be built lol

I love the combo. Will order mine this week. Don't mean to be smart....but if someone can't figure out how to put floor mats in a finely engineered machine like a BMW, they don't deserve to own one!

Templedogg: Are those the factory floormats, I hope so because I'm getting them with my 135i and I love the "Heel" section that's reinforced.

Agreed, negotiate them if you can upfront. I assumed as well it came with them and it bite me.

Who are you getting your parts from? BMW's list price on these mats is $130. The pedals you got list for $85 and the dead pedal for $75. Are they marking them up before they give you a discount?

I am just reading the numbers off the receipt from my BMW dealer as they are printed. I am not sure if I got a good deal or not, I really didn't care at the time about a few bucks here or there. Total for the mats, pedals, and footboard was 231.73 plus tax was $250.73 out the door.

Yea I'm not saying it wasn't a good deal. I just think it's sad when other dealers jack-up the price then mark 'em down to make people think they're getting a better deal. :bs:Even more so when prices are listed in the brochure.

I didn't see these floormats as an accessory on the BMWUSA page. (Only the all-weather..) Do I have to ask my SA about them directly?

You should DEFINITELY ask for them. I asked for both the cars (bought separately), got 5% off, lotsa freebies like shirts, keychains, and all weather mats AND the carpet mats.

Another alternative are Cocomats. Extremely durable and do an excellent job of protecting the carpeting under them. Had a set in our MINIs for over 5 years and the carpeting looked like new.

The look may not be for everyone, but I got lots of compliments. I'll post pics when our 135 arrives (hopefully) in mid-July.

The company website is http://www.cocomats.com

(No affiliation on my part, just a satisfied customer).
