We can't track in Canada, as far as I know (if I'm wrong on this please someone let me know). You are at the mercy of your SA until it gets booked onto the boat then;

That's Wallenius' website in the above link. You're going to the west coast, which is NYK Lines, which (unfortunately) doesn't have a similar tracking system.

Get the name of the vessel from your Client Advisor, and track the ship via Sailwx.

Not in Canada Larry. All our cars get droped off in Halifax, before you guys get yours, and are then shipped by rail to the rest of the Country. Much quicker than the Panama Canal.

That's awesome! My bad. Looks like you can put your VIN in here. Find the vessel name, and then track it via the Sailwx link above.

That seems nuts that cars going to Seattle go to Oxnard Cali, but to Vancouver, they haul it all the way across the country.

Ya, the system works well except for when they have a rail strike by CN Rail. Last year our Mini Cooper sat in Halifax for 3 weeks waiting for the strike to end : (
The only other problem is the kids on the prairies that shoot at the rail cars and put holes in the cars. No I'm not joking.

I am. I have a internet capable phone. :wink:

Seriously, I wanted to see if my track wheels fit and I officially did my golf tee mod earlier. I did do about 90 miles today though. :headbang:

Which link did you use, mine or larryn's?

They kind of do. I linked directly to the 'Auto' page that you can enter a VIN on. Same thing.

There's a vacuum controlled butterfly valve on the left tailpipe, to reduce startup noise, and limit emissions when the car is stopped.

You simply undo the small rubber hose and jam a golf tee in it, and tiewrap the hose up. It gives you a bit meaner growl at low speeds, but since the butterfly valve is normally open at speed, there's no additional noise.

Apparently there is no rime or reason for how long it takes ot get out West on the train. Sometimes it is under a week and sometimes it can take a few weeks...or so I'm told.
