for us lucky few that took delivery or will in the next few days:

where are you guys going for tint? dealer recommended phantom, somewhere else recommended flying window tint. no one has the 135 templates for their laser cutting machines...

i was gunna stick to ceramic tint in case i wanted to get a radar detector.

any thoughts?

I always get mine at flying window tinter's, always good service. They use laser cut, but I doubt they have a template.

I'll be going to Class on Glass, hopefully this weekend - they've done my last couple cars, including ceramic on my RX-8. I don't know if they laser cut, but I like the results.

Ditto. I've never had any of my cars tinted before. Have seen quite a few really horrible tint jobs in the area, so I'm going to wait and see!

I had my car tinted at Audio Excellence off of West Colonial. They didn't do that great of a job though, so I would NOT recommend them.

Most tint places probably do this too - Class on Glass warranties the film and installation for life. If it cracks, bubbles, fades, turns purple, etc., just bring it back. I keep my receipt in the owner's manual binder just in case. I've had them do 4 cars now, and haven't ever needed to go back.

Audio Excellence offered me the same thing. However, the 2" tall bubble in my back window never got fixed. I took it back twice and they couldn't fix it. The second time I asked why they wouldn't just redo the back window. They said that they couldn't do it that day, and were booked for the next week

I had metallic done - $149 for the uprated film, $129 for the standard (these are both 35%).

They also do ceramic, I don't know their current price, but it was $249 for my RX-8 4 years ago.

Really? I drive by there all the time. I may have to look in to them once I get my car back to the US.

We are getting 60% Hüper Optik done on Friday at Class on Glass. They had to special order the H.O. but supposedly it's the best. Should have some pics soon after...

Interesting, I called Huper Optik to find local dealers and I only got one orlando guy, I was not aware that they could special order the HO. I have some bubbles in mine and will be taking it back next week to get fixed. I'll wait to see how its handled before I post a good/bad review.
