Is Menzerna IP neccessary

I will be detailing the hell out of my car this afternoon and was wondering if you guys think the first stage of Menzerna IP is neccessary to remove swirl marks. I have a jet black e90 and I wouldn't say the swirl marks are out of control but are definately noticeable. Here is what I was thinking for my procedure. I would rather spend more time with the Menzerna if it improves the shine considerably. Don't want to take any shortcuts to sacrifice shine.

Claybar
Menzerna IP
Zaino ZPC
Zaino Z5

Thanks.

I would try Menzerna FP first. I have never used Z-PC so I am not sure how agressive it is.
Are you using the Porter Cable or by hand?

Using the PC.....Also, I'm guessing I use the PC for the Menzerna IP and Zaino ZPC......should I switch to hand application for the Z5 or stick with the PC for the final coat?

When using Z5 and Z2, do it by hand. You are not supposed to use too much of these products to begin with. I think you will waste more of it trying to get the pad wet.

First try Zaino ZPC with your PC and a foam polishing pad. If that does not do the trick, try ZPC with a cutting pad, then followup with ZPC on a polishing pad. If that still does not cut it for you, then try IP with a cutting pad, followup with ZPC on a polishing pad.

As for Z5, I apply it by hand with no difficulty. Out of curiousity, did you buy your Z5 recently? If so, what colour is the cap? White or blue?
