BMW driving school?

Have any of you done the BMW driving school? I like the sound of driving an M coupe or an M3 around Mont Tremblanc raceway. The only downside for me is they say you must have completed lesser car control course to enroll. I don't mind the $$$ for a day or 2 on the track but I don't want to do the lesser course.

Yes I've done 2 of them....
details are on the web site.

You are correct, you have to do advanced & perfection before you can do Tremblant.
With Perfection you will also get some M seat time.

...that's what sold me on mine

I guess I should add that I don't what to do the advanced and perfection courses because I have done similar courses before. I was heavily involved in autocross racing for 6 seasons and I have done enough driving thru cones in a parking lots. I want to try higher speeds on a nice race track...especially in a BMW M series car.

Le Circuit Tremblant is one of the funnest tracks I've been to, possibly my favorite. If you have not been to a DE before, take an ADSS (advanced driver safety school) course first, thru your local chapter.

Corners 2-6 are insane, and you will cause problems for other drivers if you do not know what to be doing there. You come up over a crest to a blind downhill/rt turn combo. I would hate to come over that crest and see somebody lost, going much slower than expected. A flag person can only do so much...

The Montreal and Boston chapters have a joint event in August called "Bimmers Across the Border", that's open to other chapters...

There are also some BMW Club events at Calabogie Motorsports Park this year, the first one is on May 12th.

If you've never been there, the Calabogie track is 5km and 20 turns of driving delight! (assuming you're doing the full track)

More info on CMP's web site here.

To be honest, last year the BMW days were some of the more expensive ones, I went to the local general car club's events instead (MCO - Motorsport Club of Ottawa).
