Hear of This: Turbo Tuner
Just got my issue of Fast Times by Bavarian Autosport and they advertise a "Turbo Tuner" - was wondering if anyone has heard of this and how well does it work ? The website says it adds 40hp and 50 ft lbs tq for only $599.95.

Turbo Tuner is a good mod. If you want to keep it simple and not have to take apart the ecu, this is the one for you. You can put it on and take it off in minutes. Dynos have shown this with a new drop in filter to add 50whp.
I have one on my 335i and havent dynoed it but it definitley pulls much harder. |

SSTT2(2nd version) is supposed to come out in a month. The main thing is to disconnect the battery while installing and uninstalling it and another requirement is you need to have slender fingers to install it:biggrin:

All piggyback devices are untraceable by the ECU by design.
Personally, I'll be going with Helix, given my proximity to their facility. Their posting the biggest gains helps the case too, heh. SSTT and JB2 are good options as well, and add a lot of power for not a lot of coin.

That was because he didn't quite finish the job of taking it out. I forget the details, but the dealer noticed some portion of the install he left behind.

They're philly, actually. They posted some dynos on E90post, was 60rwhp gained over stock on a dynodynamics, which usually reads 10-15% lower than a dyno jet, which is pretty equivalent to V2 procede, very promissing given it's beta software on an otherwise unmodded car.

You can get even better gains from the JB2 for less. Many have used it without problems. http://www.burgertuning.com/ I just hope there are no pissing contests here between Shiv and Terry. |

I haven't used their products yet (not legal yet in BMW Club Racing in Stock and Prepared class [hmm]), but I know the owner of Split Second (the maker of the Turbo Tuner) and know that their top priority is making a great overall product for the customer.
I look forward to the day I get to work with them on a race car.

If they have a new version coming out soon, and we have the first batch of customer 135is arriving in about 6 weeks to tweak & prod, the timing might dovetail nicely. Hint. Hint. |

I think the best product will be determined when it is avaliable and people post gains and possible issues they encountered. Right now we are all just referring to other forums and previous experiences on a different car =)
