WheelWax --- any good?

Have any of you guys used this WheelWax on 162 wheels? I'm thinking about trying it because my wheels get dirty from brake dust within 24 hours of washing them.

Waxing wheels does help. But keep in mind that if you use chemical cleaners or harsh soap and brush to clean your wheels, the wax won't last too long. That's why I never bother...

I used one from tirerack (don't remember name). Wheels still get dirty, but wax made it much easier to clean. I used it on my winter set to protect from salt and one application was enough for couple of month.

I did use it, but wasn't impress at all. Try zaino.

I've used that exact wheel wax and find it to work very well. However, all it does it protect the wheel, not decrease brake dust buildup. Wiping the brake dust off is simple with a rag. Keep the wax off of the tires though, it's a pain gettin it off.

why spend the extra loot use conventional wax...same results.

I've tried regular carnauba wax in the past and it didn't last long. The heat buildup of your wheels rendered it useless in a couple of days. Since I've switched to Zaino I now use that on my wheels. Being a synthetic it holds up better under those higher heat conditions but still doesn't last as long as the body panels but I don't expect it to. I'd suggect polymer type products if you really want to protect your wheels. The brake dust is a killer on these things and I try to stay ahead of it with wipedowns about every 2-3 days - takes like 5 minutes.

I have used the WheelWax on my new 162s. I like it. It makes cleaning the wheels a breeze. You simply wipe off with a wet micrfiber cloth. The wheels will still have brake dust; It is simply much easier to keep clean. It also prevents certain road contaminants from sticking to the wheels.

Yep. Wheel wax did the job.
Applying it is not as hard as someone said.
It took me about 1 hour to do all wheels (162's).
After a week of driving, the wheels were not as dirty as usual.
I then use the hose to get them wet and then used a rag to wipe off the
dirt. It just came off. it probably took me about 2 minutes per wheel to
clean them.
They look great, it was quick to clean, and I'm happy.

I am sure if you use Klasse or Zaino, you will get better results! Do a search on Autopia.

Similar results? Maybe. Better? I doubt it. Paint waxes and sealants have a much, much lower melting temperature than wheel waxes and sealants. I personally use Poorboys Wheel Sealant since I find it's easier to apply and remove than Wheel Wax, but they net similar results.

A lot of people use AIO on their wheels, that's fine; but I notice a pretty big difference moving from a paint sealant to a wheel sealant. If it's any indication how much I like this stuff (I use it on *every* car I detail), here is a pic.

I think there are a couple of those on Autopia. I will see if I can find one. Barring that I will be glad to do one; I just put OEM pads back on my G35 so they should be dusting up a storm.

How about AIO on passenger side, Wheel sealant on the other?
