135i Oil Cooler?

Does anyone know if the new 135 has the factory oil cooler? I found out recently that not all 335's have these. If you were lucky, as I was, and ordered the Sports Package, you got the factory oil cooler. Without the cooler, there have been some over-heating problems at performance speeds and high air temps.

Moved - but suggest steve335i run a search - while I didn't find a thread specifically on oil coolers, I know we cussed and discussed this quite a bit.

Maybe someone who already got delivered his 135 could pop himself under the bonnet and take a look?

I am still hoping BMW put an oil cooler on all of the 135i's, not just the ones with the sports pkg.

That would be fine for their market, but nobody has one in the US yet, and there just may be a magical combination of options for them to add the oil cooler in the front passenger corner. This parts catalog clearly shows that they won't put the oil cooler in a steptronic 335i from the factory.

Same goes for Slovenia. You may have to find somebody that took delivery os a 135i with a 6speed tranny to be able to figure out your options.

Fathers 135i comes in 2 weeks time:drinking:
I think I will have to look on my own.

You will get plenty of pics then. It's a 135i, Le Mans blue, 261's, crome line, 6sp manual, and M-Sport package.

Edit: it will be the first 135i in Slovenia, so I can't really check.

Pics or ban , when that thing comes in!! This is getting exciting that more 1addicts are getting their cars. These real world reports mean a lot more to me than the canned sausage-cut-different-length Gotland Ring reviews.

??:iono:

It clearly shows that Manuals get the Oil Cooler... it doesn't suggest the steps don't... because that isn't a catalouge for a step. High leap of assuming on your part!

This catalog doesn't have a different parts section for steptronic cars. That's all there is. It's the e92 335i (step and 6sp) catalog.

On e90post, there was a time when it seemed that in addition to the manual tranny, you also needed to sport package to get the oil cooler. It doesn't show that in the catalog though.

Either way, it's a crap shoot right now for the 1er, and we'll find out when we start getting our cars delivered. Just because the 3 series is handled one way doesn't mean the 1 series will follow the same path.

It clearly says:

FOR VEHICLES WITH
MANUAL TRANSMISSION
AND
HIGH SPEED SYNCHRONISATION

Are you saying "High Speed Synchronisation" is an automatic..?

What we really need are US Delivered cars with the different combos of Auto, Manual, Sports Pkg, and No Sports Pkg.

This is all a guessing game. Thanks BMW

Of course not. Are you saying that a single part description that references a manual transmission in one part makes the whole catalog manual transmission specific?

When I get to Chicago for the press days, I'll pester the PR flaks to put me in contact with a product specialist for the 1er. One of the first things I'm going to ask is where is the oil cooler and what configurations come equipped with an oil cooler (then I'll ask them how many oil coolers will each car have ; -).

Exactly...!

Where is the omitted automatic equivalent..? Are you saying that page includes the auto..?

If it doesn't, then you cannot assume because it doesn't, there is no oil cooler for the auto..? it just means there is no information for it!

Thats all I am getting at!

Hugo... why would there be more than 1 oil cooler? just curious!

Cool. I was just saying that a catalog that mentions a part for manual tranny specific cars doesn't mean that BMW is divulging their plans for the 1 series oil cooling (or for the 3 series, for that matter), but it's interesting nonetheless. I think we're on the same page.
