Car & Driver Oct 07 Latest Pricing News

Hi all,

This is my first post after lurking for a very long time. I thought you guys might be interested in what C&D had to say about pricing. Sorry if this has already been posted, but it kinda confirms what the "friend of salesman" and Shelly BMW has been saying: that 135 pricing will be high 30ks. This does suck for me too! Looks like I'm going elsewhere.

Here's the link:

Or, perhaps BMW is "testing" public reaction, but I for one don't like it. And no, the 335 is not an alternative for me. Totally different car as what the 1 should/will be.

Garage List
2019 BMW M2 Comp  [0.00]
2017 Porsche Macan GTS  [8.00]
2011 M3  [10.00]
2013 bmw F25 msport  [10.00]
2011 335iS  [9.60]
Personally, if I were concerned about price, I would wait until BMW makes an official announcement regarding it before going elsewhere. Additionally, the preview just says high $30s, but wasn't specific about the exact price. Furthermore, there is information somewhere on this board that the 135 would be priced in the mid 30s. So, everyone is just speculating at this point. Just wait for the official announcement that is expected to happen next month.

they got the weight difference wrong, and the displayed 0-60 time wrong ... so i wouldn't put my money on it.

What is the real weight difference? Around 280lb?
And BMw will NEVER make M1 with an engine smaller and less powerful than 135..

My guess is that this price prediction by caranddriver includes options. Otherwise, the 135i would be starting at about the same price as a 335i.

Wow... That's quite a proclamation and in bolded all caps no less.

Although the mags make plenty of mistakes, they are in a better position than the average joe to find things out from the manufacturers. I understand your frustration, but to say that they don't know anything is pretty extreme.
