Combustion misfire 4,5,6 after engine swap
2011 e92 with n55, had a wreck a couple years back that damaged the oil cooler, body shop failed to prime oil system after cooler replacement resulting in the intake cam seizing.
Decided on getting a rebuilt engine from ghassan and upgrading to a ps2 turbo. BMW indy shop did the install and had it for 6 months before throwing in the towel, they couldn't getting the car to run without misfires. Towed the car back home and replaced the basic parts coils, spark plugs, o2 sensors and still had the same misfire 4,5 6. Decided to tow it to another shop in town and they claimed it was a bad DME. 1600$ later and still the same problems with their only solution is getting a used engine from lkq. Currently sitting in the garage and have replaced HPFP, 3 injectors (yes they're coded) and hpfp sensor. If I clear the codes and rev it immediately after starting it'll act somewhat normal but as soon as it idles it'll run rough until it goes into reduced power and throw the codes for 4,5,6 misfires. One thing to note, First shop did have an issue with the engine having an n52 pump which ghassan did next day ship the correct one. And before the wreck, car was in 100% working order 108k miles FBO on stage 2+ |
