It is interesting that you will be able to fit 17 inchers over the 135i's massive front brakes. That's big for the aftermarket as it should help get the weight down; though, we still need to know what the wheel weights are before we spend thousands...

They absolutely have to be run flat. The battery is in the trunk floor. You couldn't add a spare tire if you wanted to...unless you did a continental kit. Wouldn't that be bitchin' on a 1er?

Hmmm sport?

on the 128 i dont understand why the sport package wheel would be .5-1.0" narrower than the non sport-pack... actually now that i research that might be a typo... i think the 256s are actually 7" wide?

Hopefully it IS wider, but i would hope that the sport wheel would be +1: 17s standard, 18s optional... i like style 263 so i guess ill have to get that as an accessory... unless we can petition BMW... give us 18" on 128i sport package!!!! :eyebulge:

This is great news for track junkies regarding the optional 17" option for the 135i. That means that some 17" wheels WILL fit over the brakes! I might be able to use my 16.2lb race wheels on it. 17x8.5 all around with 255 Hoosiers, baby!

Does the continental kit include the fins as part of the package on the 135i? Or are the fins extra? If the fins are part of the package, I'm on it. I hope BMW isn't de-contenting the fins for the US market.

my thoughts exactly. it will be interesting to see which 17x8 or 17x8.5 wheels will fit in the front, although i guess it depends on the offset.

Thank you, thank you very much.

I got a kickass one coming up about preventing wheel corrosion. Look for it in a few days.

It's interesting that there are no optional upgrade wheels for the 128i and 135i (128 sport pkg aside). I would have seriously considered the 263 style.

as a tangentially related point; any idea on the weight difference between the wheel and tire packages as offered on the 135?
