BMWCCA Discount
Just wanted to point out something that a lot of newbies and maybe some of the old timers may not be aware of. If you're a member of the BMWCCA you get some pretty good benefits, of which one of the most important is the $500 discount off new and CPO purchases.
You need to have been a member for at least a year though. Food for thought for those thinking about getting the 1er sometime after it's initial release. I'm a member and I highly recommend it to those who aren't. Membership is $40 per year, you get invites to cool events and many companies give discounts on performance goodies. And Roundel magazine is a decent read as well. And NO I don't work for them. Cheers :drinking: |

I heard that the discounts apply only to certain models. My neighbor called them and they told him that the 1 series will not be included for the first year.
Also, the 1 year membership condition must be met at the time you receive the car. For those who are doing ED next summer and waiting for re-delivery in the US 4-6 weeks later, the date of delivery in Germany counts. |

unlike porsche club, you do not have to own a bmw to join. one great benefit is a discount at all hpde events held by local chapters.
also, you can participate in their annual raffle/fundraiser, which has a profit margin far less than most raffles. if you have a bmw, one of their biggest advantages is that essentially all bmw technical questions are answered, in case you have a difficult diagnostic problem with your car, they often can be of help. i haven't owned a bmw for 3 years, but i still maintain my membership. for the bmwcca! |

I was under the impression that only new cars were covered...ALL new cars,I didn't know CPO was eligible for discount. I would find it highly unlikely they wouldnt be up to knocking off a measly $500 off a brand new car for their loyal fanatics

I called them and they weren't sure about the 1 series.

Thanks Walsh.. good to close this out, in case somebody finds it during a search, and we do have other threads that already states that the Membership Rewards Program does not apply to the 1 series.

It is separate from the dealer/price you negotiate. You don't even have to tell the dealer about it. Of course, as shown, this only applies to non-1, non-Mini, non-X6 cars. When I got my '99 M3, I got the same sort of rebate, except it was through BMW NA for the company I worked for at the time. It was very similar.

My understanding is that the rebate program is sponsored by BMW NA - essentially, a price incentive beyond what the dealer can manage. Given the exclusion of the 1 Series (also recently confirmed by the BMW CCA Roundel), apparently BMW NA feels the margins are too narrow to justify it. Let's see what happens in Year 2 of the 1.
