Colour Query

Hi, new to the board. Been a lurker for about a week or so trying to find out what colour the car is in this spy picture. Its probably been asked before, but I cant find it.

Is it sparkling graphite?

Ive seen other pictures of sparkling graphite (esp. the 3 series) online and in real life, and they look much darker than this one.

Thanks in advance.

I would say that it has to be Sparkling Graphite. Perhaps it is the lighting in the photo. The only other greyish colors in the color lineup are Titanium Silver (which this is def not) and Cashmere Silver which I'm not sure of the exact look of. SG is def the color I am on board for. I really like the way it looks.

Sparkling Graphite, Shadowline trim, and black interior--my spec'ed car, except it's a diesel and not a 135i. With a set of aftermarket wheels in gunmetal or hyperblack it will be awesome.

That is an awesome combo, I agree. I am shooting for the same, except that it will be a 128.

Just curious, how do you know it is a diesel?

While not dispositive, those wheels look to be 141s which are standard on the 123d.

I'm liking the SG w/ black leather a lot.

Thanks for the replies. The colour looks great for this car. Im actually shocked at the low number of colours available for the 1 series. Including the missing "arctic", which I had presumed was a BMW must for ever series.

I googled "BMW sparkling graphite" and found the forum below which had pictures. Strangely, the colour looks different. In some instances theres a hint of purple (esp. the first 'showroom' pictures).

I think the lighting makes a huge difference, especially natural light versus artificial light.

im almost positive thats sparkling graphite. this is my favorite picture of a 1 series to date, and a couple others for shitsngiggles, they all look to be the same and i cant imagine it being space grey since its not supposed to be available anywhere. that e90 thread shows how much it depends on light

mikeo, that is the perfect combination. dark poplar grey birch whatever trim?

I'm still thinking about the interior trim options. In general, I like wood trim on the 5 & 7 Series, but not so much on the 3 Series, and by association, the 1 Series. My first inclination was to stay all black on the interior with the hi-gloss black trim. Now I'm thinking that will look too cheap. So I'm still batting it around, and I have plenty of time to decide--dammit.

I'm actually considering buying a 2002 as a temporary DD to have some entertainment for the next 8 months.

I would personally like to see Space Gray:iono:
I have seen 2 Space Gray 335's and they look great in both direct sun and overcast or nighttime. The Space Gray looks amazing with some M6 reps. Just food for thought.

Agree with DSM9 on the gray color. Imola red 2, Carbon Black, Electric Red, Orient Blue Metallic, Steel Gray Metallic I know a few others that would like to see Techno Violet Metallic and Estoril Blue Metallic.

I think the Sparkling Graphite or Alpine While will be my final color choice. Would still like to have a Steel Gray or Space Gray chioce.

I have an E46 with Black interior and Piano Black trim. IMO, It looks stealthy and not cheap.
