Interesting that the 1 Coupe behind him has a more aggressive hood than the production model. Dont know which I like better, though.

Bangle would have been much better off pointing out that white is simply a traditional color of high performance German race cars.

The main difference is the "crease" running up the center of the hood (between the roundel and the windshield). The production version doesn't have that.

Ummm...sorry but I've seen the same crease in the hood of every pic(that shows the front end) of a 1'er so far...:iono:

Edit: I even see the same crease on the one in the banner above.

I'm talking about the crease up the middle (dead center) of the hood.

I don't see one in this picture. Do you?

Ahhh...sorry but my eyes went to the only crease that I could see in the video...and that's not in the centre of the hood...

All I see there is a line between where it's white/silver and clay.:iono:

it just looks like a crease cause half the car is covered in brown modeling crap.

car looks real good from that slight angle, bangle musta picked it out, shows off the curves well. also shows how the fenders stick out a bit much more than the cabin better than the head on pics, i like.

bmw-web.tv has yet to really have one of those episodes be very informative though

The lighting is really playing with my eyes but the difference I am seeing is an increase in height in the crease and one that doesnt seem to finish at the corners of the kidneys (like in the press pics).

+1 on every point. Add to that odd lighting and the angles get accentuated.

English is is first language. Just hoping he thought something in his head and the words came out different (happened to me before, thinking one thing and saying something else unintended) and that he's not actually a racist.

That was hilarious!

As funny as it was though, there is no way anyone can judge if he's a racist or not from this. Taken at the face value, he was just referring to the color of cars. It could've been an axis of blue power for all we know.

But we can safely say that he is an idiot for choosing those words. AXIS of WHITE power? You just don't say that, no matter what the context is, especially when you are a star member of a major German auto maker.

It is a pretty remarkable gaffe for someone in his position, both as an American (although I believe he was just born here) and as the executive of a German car company.

I recall a news account somewhere about journalists arriving in Germany and being given a card marked "race card" by BMW to allocate track time. Of course, the American journalists had a good laugh.

I think some folks at BMW are just harmlessly clueless.
