Sorry guys. $30,000 for a 135i ain't gonna happen. I don't think that's what Edmund's is saying, either. They are analogizing the 135i to the STI and EVO, both of which are closer to $35k than $30k.
And with 300 hp driving its compact chassis, it will provide unheard-of performance for a $30K car without a 2-foot-tall wing on the trunk. Sales start in the spring of 2008.

I sure hope he is right but I don't think that this writer knows anything more than anyone else. If he knew something more concrete, he would come out and say it. Based on that, I think that he is simply guessing.

I've got that article in front of me- the 30k is just a ballpark figure.
They don't say it's for the 135. Motor Trend has used the same phrase and number in a recent article.
The info is coming. It will be definitive down to the last penny.

The article doesn't specify that the 135i is 30k. It does say the 1 series coupe will be around 30k. Remember there are 2 coupes, the 128i(which will be closer to 30k) and the 135i(which will more than likely be around 34-36k). My prediction is 28k for the 128i and 35k for the 135i.

I hope you mean 34-36k with options. Motortrend estimated the base price to be 31,000, but it will probably be closer to 33,000.

I seriously can't see a bare-bones 135 being less than 33-34...fully optioned to 40.

Yeah the fully loaded 135i will easily see 40k. A fully loaded 128i would probably be in the 36k range.

Well, the article only mentions the 128i in passing but I think they really meant $3X,XXX when they said $30,000.

Just remember everyone, they are talking in generalizations. A $30,000.00 car could mean, ($30,000.00 - $39,999.99.) So don't take it literally when they say $30,000.00 car.

I sure you will, I'm just referring to some people taking these prices guesses to literally. I'm sure most 135i's will go for between $35,000.00 and $39,000.00, depending on equipment. That is just a GUESS everyone !!!!!! Anyway good luck !!!!
