N52 330i auto software update
Hi guys,
I've been lurking for quite some time and already found abundance of tips with my latest e90 330i. I'm after software update on both engine and auto gearbox (not sure if it's worth updating anything else?), however I'm reluctant doing it myself. I've got inpa, Winkfp etc. (I've got them from bimmergeeks). So far used it for codes and basic diagnostic. Don't have the balls to find latest daten files and update the car with winkfp as it doesn't look straight forward. Don't want to make my car undrivable basically 🤣 Anyone with experience willing to help comrade and give a hand? Or know anyone around London who's reliable with this? Don't mind spending a bit for it since I'm not confident doing it myself. |

Sorry I can't help you, but just sharing that I considered software updates for a long time but gave up on trying to do it myself because it takes forever with a K+DCAN cable. I read that an icom/enet cable is the way to go, however there may be some newer setups that even work with a wifi dongle like thor or the one from MHD.

I looked into a software update for my n53 engine with msd80 dme, but I was told by the company that remapped my engine that the risk of bricking the dme was not worth the benefits. It maybe easier to update the software on the newer msd81 dmes.

Unless you have some sort of issue with the engine or trans then don't bother updating. It doesn't do anything. What software level is installed in the car now? It probably has the latest installed already.
