Yes I know them and I use their insurance on my car and home. I've also used their banking services. USAA is pretty competitive and they are easier to work with than some other banks I've known. Although I haven't had a loan through them, I've use their rates to get lower rates from the dealer.

its a bank that is "exclusive" to servicemember. But, Ive "heard" that non-servicemembers have used them. But they offer ever financial product known to man. I have my car loan, bike loan, savings, checking, credit card insurance through them. THEY ARE THE SHIT:thumbup: REALLY

From my understanding you must be a service member, dependent of a service member or former dependent of a service member. BTW, back in the day it was only available to officers.

Both my father and father-in-law were in the service. We use USAA for just about everything. We refi-ed our house awhile back and got a great rate with very low costs. When I bought my 325, I got a rate quote from USAA before I went in. The dealership offered me a rate more than 2.5% above USAA. I told the dealership I had a better rate from USAA but didn't tell them what it was. After trying two more times, they finally came back with a .25% lower than the USAA rate. The dealerships know they have good rates and will try to beat them to get your business. Great bargaining tool.

I'm pretty sure they also have a car purchase negotiating program like the Costco one described elsewhere in the forum. I haven't used it. I think most of the good banks and credit unions provide this service.

Yes USAA does have a buying service. I've heard good things about it, but haven't used it myself.

I have financed several cars with them, it is quick and painless, they next day air all of the paperwork and they give you a beter rate if you use auto deduct from your checking account. I became a member back in the day when it was just officers, but my children are members now, and never were in the service.

Just financed the MINI with USAA Bank (5.14% for 36 months w/automatic payment). I've been a member of USAA since 1968.

We have both our cars insured throught USAA. It was WAY cheaper then anything else we could find.

We were able to get it throgh my partners Dad who was an offiicer.

Your screwed if you have ANY tickets though. They will drop you like a hot potato.
