I hope this is not a repost. By the way, is it the normal convention on this site to still call the coupe and convertible as a "2 series"?

Here's some other pictures of [presumably] the same car from last week.

And the retouched spyshot...

And here's the 1 real life picture.

Same car with crew blocking the photographer.

I always like new pics, how about you?
Nice pics! I certainly like the color.

The spypics consistently show smaller headlamps than the hatch, with what seems to be more distance between it and the grill. I hope the final version come out that way too.

EDIT: And I thought my WRX had huge wheel gaps. Is that a rally edition 128xi?

Take a look at how high the mule is sitting. 1-er coupe running on X-1 chassis?

Thank you for these new photos. That is an interesting observation. How far do you think BMW is from producing their X1 to compete against the 2008 VW Tigaun and Audi A3? As I am seeing it, there will be a flood of new crossover SUVs and "small" SUV's available in the USA over the next few years.

Awesome!!! Looks like its going to come out looking almost idetical to the compute renderings that we saw early on of the red/orange coupe!

Actually I started out posting that thought as a joke and then I seriously thought about it...
just as the 1-er coupe/cabrio absolutely is going to define small/fast/premium, the mainstream trend is definitely about hybrid (crossover) design in just about any package and cost segment.

BMW X6 by Huckfeldt

An X1 only seems inevitable.
And yeah, that little Blue Coupe is definitely ridin' high.

this coupe keeps getting better and better looking. and that ride is very high... either that or those are 14 or 15 wheels.

on the x1.... from the early renderings of the car, it's ugly to me. it going to basically be a smaller version of the x6. bmw needs to look at the infiniti ex for styling cues on how a small crossover suv should look, imo.

It will be interesting to see what comes out of all the car companies over the next 5 years. With increasing preasure from EPA and oil dependency. Increased fuel economy will begin to become the mainstream. Hybrid and smaller cars will be the trend. You will see more alliances like GM, BMW and DaimlerChrysler developing a Two-Mode hybrid vehicle transmission.

I think I got used to the black tape around the headlights. Now, the lights on the undisguised red one look huge.
