Hpi Engines

Why doesn t bmw put in the new hpi engine 272hp in 130i can someone explain.

It will happen eventually. The HPI engines are coming to the 3-series (E92 and E93 330i, not sure if they will be in the E90 and E91) in March.

Sorry but what's the HPI engine? They better give the coupe/converbiel the 335i's engine.. don't they already have it in a 135i in europe?

I think there will mbe a 125i, 130i, and a 130ti (335 engine)

HPI is BMW's marketing-speak for direct injection. It stands for High Precision Injection I believe. The turbocharged N54 engine (used in the 335i) has HPI, but Advevo was talking about the 272hp naturally aspirated version (which is known as the N53).

No 135i anywhere yet. Its bound to happen soon.
The N53 is really what I am wanting...that way the car might still have close to a 3200lbs curb weight. With the N54, you are looking at probably closer to 3400lbs.
