Split axle boots possible?
We just did both front axles on our sons 2013 528i X. Was one of the biggest jobs my kid has ever done, and was pretty cool to get it all done with him.
However, when we were finishing everything up, we noticed we must've nicked one of the boots as it had a tiny (but NEW) little tear in it. Of course, that tear is now a torn boot, and it needs replacing... Instead of undoing all the work we did, is it possible to get a split boot for this? I've searched online, and it doesn't seem to be a common item for BMW. Anyway thoughts and advice would be appreciated! Bill and Kason |

Hope you got this sorted out, I see it's from 7-6-23. But you are right, BMW does not do split boots. WHEN they do replacement boots, they are complete and replacing them requires undoing the CV housings to slip them on, pack the grease and reassemble.
