Unused Key + Old PROGMAN Data Readout?
Hi, all
I was curious on the following subject. My car was recently updated to ISTA/P 2.32.1. Given that I have only ever used one key on this car, is it possible to have my SA read my "unused" key and see what version the car came with? I have Comfort Access so it can be assumed that once the key + car come within proximity of one another, they will sync and the experiment is trashed. However, if I were to somehow get the key to BMW without it ever getting close to the car, the old data, in theory, should still be there. Any thoughts? |

I believe the key can't wirelessly sync data between the car and the key like that. I believe it will only be updated when the key goes in the slot.

+1 Or at least that's what my BMW SA says whenever they take my CA key and stick it in the slot prior to reading it. I never use the slot, and apparently the key tells them nothing unless they put it in the slot first.
