Audi S5 Clutch Issues (Urgent Help Please)
Okay this problem started about a few months ago, and I thought nothing of it until it recently got worse and worse. I brought the car down to Champion Audi in Florida to have them replace my headlight, and do the supposedly required 4 software updates the car needed.
I also mentioned the clutch issue, when I depressed the clutch it would make a cracking sound, as if a spring is clicking on the way down. After 5 days down at the dealer they finally lubed up my "Clutch Return" and sent the car back to me yesterday. On the way home the problem returned, but now the clutch was slipping while attempting to engage gears. Today I brought the car back to the dealer (as they scratched my bonnet up pretty badly) had the shop foreman sit in the car and he felt the clicking sound, but stated he had no idea what it could possibly be. Now I have already been without the car for 5 days, and since they have no idea what is wrong with the car, I will be without it for an undisclosed amount of time. I honestly do not know how to proceed, the dealer cannot provide a loaner to me as I am under their minimum age to use one. Bear in mind their last attempt did absolutely nothing to solve my clicking issue... And my assumption is that the car will be their for over a week now... I would appreciate any input you have on clutch issues and where to go from here. Thanks guys much obliged! Jordan. Edit: wrong section >_<

i dont know what you can do about the clutch issue but make your dealer pay for a rental. if you are 18, have a card, and your insurance will let you drive a rental, then you should be allowed to get one.

In regards to the loaner, I'm 20 min age at the dealer is 21 so I got screwed with that and it doesn't seem like there is much I can do about that one.

That sucks. Its really a personal call on the part of the SA. My SA at the Volvo dealership where I got my first car would give me loaners when I was 16. After he rode with me to diagnose a problem and saw I didn't drive like a maniac he trusted me with them.

Audi's have a lot of problems, therefore an audi board will have more answers.

Good luck kid, I hope you get someone to sign off on the loaner, otherwise just borrow some other car your parents have perhaps, hopeflly it's not gonna take too long. Sucks that they scratched the paint too... funny this, cannot imagine Lexus dealers doing stuff like that. I dunno for your problem, demand new clutch if they cant fix it.

ive never heard of a good experience with an Audi. My godmother ordered a totally loaded Q7 before they came out and the car was months overdue. They finally gave her an A6 Avant to drive for 4 months until her Q7 came in. NOw at 40k miles its falling apart. I drive it quite a bit because I'm over there a lot and would rather drive my [younger] godbrothers around something bigger and something i wont care if they put their feet on the back of my seat and it feels like total junk. the steering wheel is worn like it has 100k miles on it and the leather looks old and decrepit and its in the shop for something almost every month. They have sort of like a butler who takes care of their cars so she never takes it to the dealer and such but she would rather be driving her own car than a loaner. I told her shes getting a BMW next. She admitted that after she bought her Q7 she kind of wished she had gone with a 530xiT [535 wasnt out yet]

Its all bullshit, and honestly the car is awesome but this just seems excessive... No call from the dealer today, im starting to look into lemon laws... Biggest issue wit hthat is the huge wait list for the car.

Maybe because they haven't figured out how to solve the clutch problem in production?
