Question Recommendations On Garage Car Lift?

one of my friends is looking for a car lift in his garage. he doesn't want the one where you have to drill the hole on the floor and have the steel tube rise.

what lift is the one people use to store cars in their garage? they are able to fit one underneath and have another on top.

it would be nice if this lift can also double as a car lift so he can remove tires etc (as far as i know the wheels of the car are grounded on the platform when it goes up).

Let me get this straight. Your friend wants to suspend expensive (and possibly deadly) cars in the air and not anchor the lift to the floor?

You crazy maing.

I believe to even install one of these you need at least 1' of concrete flooring to drill into... but I may be wrong

I think he means he doesn't want the giant center hydraulic post, not that it isn't necessarily bolted to the concrete.

Here are a few companies to check out:

I really want one of these from Dannmar: http://www.maxjaxusa.com/

Supposed to be about $2k or so....
