New m5c owner have some general qa

Hey guys,

i just got my m5 a month ago and its at 600 miles. I was wondering if the exhaust gets louder after the break in service because its relatively quiet for me. If it doesnt if anyone amrtryx exhaust can you share your experience with that exhaust or any other you would prefer

Hi,

Is your car equipped with the sport exhaust (black tips) ?

Normally, it gets louder with time, but if you want something really louder the MPE exhaust is made for you.

Yes, it will get broken in and somewhat louder and deeper.

Run the exhaust good and hot for a while and it will help.

So you have the sport exhaust, competition does not exist, at least that I know.

I have the sport exhaust from factory and I'm satisfied, although I'd be happy with a louder sound.

Yes, its an option that comes with competition package. It was listed as part of competition package. Its a different exhaust that comes from the standard m5 exhaust. I am used to hearing more noise thats why lol.

As others have stated, the sport exhaust will get a little louder with time, but not a lot. If you want "louder", get the MPE Titanium exhaust. Game changer on mine without being obnoxious. $$$ but worth it. IMO, the M5 Comp should have come stock w/ it, but would have raised the MSRP 6-7K.

I don't think it gets louder at all. With 4 F90's in our family, none have sounded different anytime after delivery.

If you want any louder, you need to do some mods such as DP's or a complete exhaust system.

Or resonator delete — which is the main party trick of any full exhaust system.

I'm sure you know this already, but for maximum loudness you'll want to set the Engine in Sport or Sport+ mode and make sure the exhaust button to the left of the shifter is on.

The comp comes with the sport exhaust as standard if you want louder.
You can the try the bmw MPE. But I would go with akrvopivic personnaly.
Both I believe are titanium as well.

The transmission mode also seems to affect the pops and burbles. I've only noticed the good pops in Sport+, S3 and below 45mph. In S2 I rarely get them and in S1 never. I assume D3 would be another way to get them but I mainly drive in D1/S2/S3.

Only muffler is titanium on MPE. Akrapovic is full titanium.
