your thread title is misleading and your post is way too vague.

What went wrong?

haha my bad guys. nah ive installed my hids on mine (e36) and my buddy's car. just having trouble gettin it all installed.

to try to make it easier, i was just gonna remove the whole headlight so we could really take a look at things but i couldnt reach the last bolt holding it on near the inside of the car.

(i got the 2 on top, and the one right behind the wheel well) correct me if im wrong but i believe you have to take the front bumper off to take the headlight out? thats what i read somewhere.

so to try to avoid that, i was gonna just try and remove the stock bulb, drill the hole in the cover and just put the hid in and connect it up without taking the headlight...but... couldnt find where the connector for the headlights is?

granted we only had an hour to give it a shot, i told him when we had more time it would be done.

help help help

What you need to do is get a HID Relay Harness. It plugs into your + terminal in the engine and Ground. Along with that resistors to prevent a bulb out error from coming. You do not wanna drill a hole in your lights....
PM me for details i can help. i've had some experience in HID Retrofits

Exclamation Same Problem

I am having the same problem as 325i 2 m3 is talking about. I have a 2006 325i with a DDM tuning HID kit. How do I install an HID kit into this vehicle? I am confused because all the wiring for the headlight is contained inside the headlight assembly, and the connector taht connects to the halogen bulb is totally different from the connections on the hid kit. Please help!

Thanks

Terry

You are going to have to drill a one inch hole in the back of the headlight cover. The hid kit should come with a waterproof seal with some holes in it for the wiring to go through. Once you do that you are going to have to find a place to mount your ballast. Pretty simple once you think it out.

I have the same kit in 07 328i (09/06 build) and it will not even turn on with the car on. Capacitors will make it work but you will still get a lighting system error which is VERY annoying. Bought cancelers from dsc201knoc, worked but still got lighting system error which pops up every minute! After spending about $30 I got everything I need to make a harness similar to "parachute" to get rid of the error.

Here is a rough sketch of the harness I made to prevent the errors. Original idea was posted by Parachute.
