idrive blackout

So i got into my car today and waited for the music to come on and it never did. then as i was driving the idrive screen went black and came back up like it was rebooting or something. it has done this a few times but no sound.

i have a sub in my trunk and it has worked great for the last 6 months since it went it. i have all quality jl products so i dont think thats the problem.

is anyone else having this problem? my car is due to go to the dealership soon so i will ask them to check it out. should i remove my sub so they dont give me shit for it?

thanks

+1, once they see those wires, and the amp, you're boned for the electrical part of your warranty.

i still have the stock amp in the car and i can remove everything and make it look stock besides the wires i cut. hopefully they wont notice them.

any idea on how much it'll cost to fix if they void the warranty?

If it flashes "BMW" but never completely works I think it's a hardware issue. If the screen turns off and then reboots to working status, then it's a software issue. Both have happened to me so you're not the only one.

yeah my thread got towed here and i never searched the forum. i seem to be having the same problem everyone else has. my screen shut off and rebooted. but after rebooting i get no sound. really pissing me off cause i have a sub and they might try to say that caused it even though it didnt
