Unfortunately last week my wife's 23 MB AMG GLE 53 was broken into at a restuarant in Houston TX. Car damages plus my wife's just purchased louis vuiton purse.

We didn't even sit down at the table and her MB app notified of a side collision. Ran outside and they were gone and window smashed.

Does anyone know if the bmw app notifies us due to alarm trigger or collision impact??

Unfortunately they stated out of the dash cam to be recorded because the dash cam felt g shock it recorded but they were on the side of the car.

the car will take video of the area around the car if the alarm is triggered. basically the remote 3d view but it starts recording as soon as the alarm is triggered, so you will see a 360 view that changes as the mirrors unfold.
im not sure if it pushes an alert, but it does show up in the app
the alarm is not triggered by shock, its triggered by cabin intrusion or tilt

I was just thinking the other day how the app should be more useful with customizable notifications. It has no notifications AFAIK and in todays world it's pretty bad. Instead of taking away buttons in the car they should focus on improving the app. I've used the app for at least 5 yrs on i3, X5, X7 and only for lock/unlock, condition & start. In the i3 you would think it would pop a notification that charging is complete.
