Possible engine seized?
2008 328XI For awhile starts fine but after short drive turns slow then starts, sometimes needed boost, last Fri bought new battery Die hard AGM to replace the Bosch, 2 days later noticed same behavior, on way home accelerated on drive car shut off and I coasted to my driveway, tried to start engine struggles to move doesn’t get full rotation and lights shut off during attempt, noticed voltage drop to 10v suspected Starter put new one in same issue even with jump, what could cause this, also removed all plugs and still have intake off engine 2011 I installed 2 years ago had 75k oil changed last month and antifreeze full don’t see any leaks on ground

It could be the alternator. If the alternator is bad and not charging the battery
when you drive. Your battery will be dead in about 2 days depending on your driving distance. Even a new battery will die without a charge. Check your battery voltage again. then check it with the engine running if you can. The alternator regulator is cheap and easy the swap out if you need to. good luck. |

I've seen this far too often. Throwing money/parts at a car and it doesn't fix the problem.
Join BMWCCA and your local chapter https://www.ctvalley.org/. They should be able to recommend a very good indy garage in your area. Could be as simple as a severely corroded ground strap. |
