aftermarket lowering springs vs warranty

Will BMW void your warranty if you install H&R sports springs on a base model 325i?

Adding a part does not void the warranty.

However if you add springs and a shock goes bad on you they could say the springs caused it and not cover it. If you add an intake and something happens to the motor that they can say was caused by poorly filtered air going through the intake they could deny your waranty. But if you add springs and you have an engine problem they cannot deny your waranty because of the springs.

if you wait for the Dinan suspension, technically you wouldn't have this problem no? I asked my Service Advisor today and he said that the only suspension that will not void the factory warranty are dinan products installed at a dinan authorized dealer -- donno if this is true. Any insight will be greatful.

The folks at Dinan said that they will release a suspension in a few months (currently in testing).

ARGH! Adding suspension WILL NOT void your entire factory warranty. Please read the SEMA link i posted above...
