Strange heated steering issue.
Hey guys, have a problem where I press the heated steering wheel button and nothing happens. Heated seats work fine, cars heating works fine. Zero codes on ISTA, so I'm not too sure what's the problem here. LED on the side is NOT coming on. Could it be a problem with the cars voltage?

Check wiring. Doubtful the issue relates to something general, though it is possible.
Do all other HVAC functions work as expected?

I would check the clock spring and see if it has the proper connections for your heated steering wheel. I'd make sure that your car had it from the factory and what your experience isn't the result of some dude trying to retrofit it but not wiring it in.
Start simple and check fuses though. |

In CA, the heated steering wheel was part of the premium package - OP, do you have an alarm system, auto dimming mirror, and leather seats? If so the car originally came with the heated wheel.
Could very well be a voltage issue - I have a very early 2009 (10/08 build), and if I start the car on a cold morning and immediately turn the heated wheel on, the wheel will not heat up - a bug in the electronics due to the temporary low voltage on start up. I have to wait approx. 30 sec after start up before triggering the heated wheel. My issue’s different though as the light still comes on. Few thoughts: - The button is a momentary switch; try a new (good used) switch? - Do you have any DSC errors? - Do your steering wheels controls work (and do they light up at night?) - Have you checked fuse 5?
