2020 M40 to a 2023 M40
Anyone have experience with both cars? Any differences in the actual drive of the car? I know the design differences and missing item problems, im curious about the driving feel. TIA

Probably less exhaust noise. MH implementation is very good, first car where start/stop doesn’t bother me. I had 2021 SQ7 before, presumably with the same 48v mild hybrid that Audi was advertising so much and it was complete garbage

I would argue that noise is actually coming from exhaust, it is just so weird and muted. I have ASD coded off, after deleting resonator burbles became louder, after installing AA downpipe burbles became even more loud, with rare, occasional, very shy crackles. And xHP tune takes care of upshift burps. I have 2022 though, but I don't think there are any difference between 2022 and 2023

My lease is coming up on my M40i and biggest things holding me back from 2023 is lack of power side bolsters and no kick feature to open trunk. I wish we could get M seats from X3M.

My 23 30i has the kick-to-open tailgate. It would surprise me if the M40i didn’t have it too.

Oddly enough - in Europe you can... you can also delete the moonroof as an option.

To answer the original - I came from 1st gen G01 to the LCI a week or so back.
I immediately noticed a more refined ride, appeared more solid. Not sure if this is because the car is brand new, but definitely noticed it. Also the ride noise 'appears' less to me. Leaving aside the obvs things like the cluster display and the bigger iDrive screen as accepted, one thing I really liked is that the driver's seat doesn't click slightly when I get in. I never did notice this on previous model until about a year or so in, and some 'bar-steward' on this forum flagged it and since that point I was fixated every time I got in :-). So that's gone. Pisser that the kick to open tailgate was deleted, not so pissed about the iDrive touch pad thingy. Wireless charging missing was a bummer, as useless as it was in previous gen I was hoping it would get better. Now I don't have the chance to find out. SO yes for me it's a definite improvement. |
