Thumbs up another M3 detailed

I bought my M3 about 3 months ago, but it was an April build so it sat on the
dealers lot for quite a while. As a result there were about a million swirl marks on the paint, so it was time for some polishing. Below is a list of what I used and some before/after pictures. Unfortunately I didn't get a good 50/50 shot while polishing. This was the first time I polished a car and it was certainly a decent amount of work and took quite a while although it did get easier with more practice. Everything else was very easy to apply/remove and I am very happy with the results.

Wash: Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss w/ foam cannon
Clay: Chemical Guys Gray Clay w/ Luber
Polish: Menzerna SIP / Orange Pad w/ Makita 9227c on 3
Menzerna PO 106FA / White Pad w/ Makita 9227c on 2.5
Trim: Black WOW
Prima Clarity
Chemical Guys Metal Shine
Protection: Chemical Guys Jet Seal 109 (2 coats)
LSP: Chemical Guys 5050 (2 coats)

Before Polish (looked much worse in person):

After Polish:

Man that is some epic orange peel in the last photo. Not your fault, just BMW's paint process I guess.

Yes very easy. I just applied it to the entire car with an applicator and let it sit for a little while (I think CG recommends about 15-20 minutes). Then you just wipe off the rest with a micro fiber towel. Let it sit for another 20 minutes and then do a 2nd coat.

Wow! Those swirls were horrible and you got them PERFECTLY! Nice work! I thought this was too much to handle, but you showed it's possible.

I was doing a detail today as well and could not believe how bad the o-peel is. It would be interesting to see if it gets better through the life of the model. Inexcusable in any car let alone a $70k 3-series. An enlargement of my JB hood section...

I detailed a friends '98 993 Carrera S yesterday. I did pretty much the same thing as I did on mine listed above plus a few extras (clean/conditioned leather, wheel wax, dressing on the tires...). The car had never been polished and hadn't been waxed in a while either. It looked amazing afterwards. I love taking my time and making a car look its best (it took me almost 10 hours), but afterwards my back reminded me why this is just a hobby and not a full time job. My friend couldn't believe how nice the car looked afterwards. He now wants me to do his Mini and 997 GT3.

It was pretty late by the time I finished, so I only got a couple pictures that came out okay there is also a 50/50 shot while polishing.

The last detail over Christmas, a friends C6 Corvette. I love the way this car looks (I really thought I would like driving a C6 also until I drove one ). This car is mostly a garage queen and has been well kept, so it didn't need any polishing (it is a 2005 and only has ~12k miles). I just did a wash, clay, seal, wax, windows, tires, ...

It's really time for a new camera, but here are a few ok shots:
